National Reading Day Celebration – “Bookormma”
In observance of National Reading Day, the Library and the Department of Languages at TKM College of Arts and Science jointly hosted a literary gathering titled “Bookormma” on 19th June 2025 in the college seminar hall. The programme aimed to foster a culture of reading and reflection by encouraging participants to share impactful literary experiences and explore contemporary reading habits.
The event was inaugurated by the Principal, Dr. M.J. Sheeba, who emphasized the transformative power of reading in shaping young minds. A commemorative lecture honoring P.N. Panicker, the father of the library movement in Kerala, was delivered by the College Librarian, Dr. Muhammad Mustafa. His address paid tribute to Panicker’s vision and enduring legacy in promoting reading as a cultural movement.
A vibrant session followed, where faculty members and students shared books that left a lasting impression on them. The presentations spanned a rich array of genres, languages, and themes, reflecting both personal journeys and academic interests. Highlights included:
